The printing is done on flat bed screen
printing machine. The screen carrier carries 5 to 9 screens
depending on the number of colours required. The printing is
achieved by means of spreading knives. The dyes used are
imported acrylic dyes and the designs are imprinted through
screens. The printed fabric then is fed
over rollers into a steam chamber at pre-determined speed
for steam setting. The dyed fabric is
rolled into cylindrical into cylindrical lengths and fed
into washing machine tanks containing specific quantity of
detergent to wash the blanket fabric. Here the glues and
adhesives from the printing process are washed away.
The water from the blanket fabric is removed by hydro
extractors, and rolled blanket fabric is then passed through
a drying chamber to dry out the fabric.
The fabric is put into the raising machine. The raising
process bring out the pile evenly on both sides of the
fabric. The fabric then goes to a
polishing machine which imparts sheen and glow to Acrylic
pile on both sides of the fabric. After
the raising operation loose ends and irregular lengths of
piles are shorn off to obtain an even and leveled finish on
both sides. Since the fabric gets
compressed in the raising machine, it is passed through
a brushing machine, which opens up the pile again and
introduces a glossy finish. In case of single ply blankets,
polishing and brushing action are carried out twice. |
